Río Higuerón – Our Favourite River Walk

One of our top recommendations for hot days! This is a real adventure where you walk right in the refreshing Higuerón riverbed, past natural pools perfect for a dip. Expect to scramble over rocks and wade through cool water.

Maro–Cerro Gordo Coastal Walk

We absolutely love this trail along the cliffs of the natural park. The turquoise sea glitters below you, and the views are simply breathtaking. If the weather is right, you can combine the hike with a swim in one of the coves.

Our Personal Hiking Tips

  • Best Time: We recommend starting very early in summer. Spring and autumn are ideal. Always check the local weather forecast!
  • Footwear: Good, sturdy shoes are essential. For the river walk, water shoes are super practical.
  • Water & Sun: Always bring enough water (at least 1.5–2 L per person), a hat, and sunscreen. There's very little shade on the ridges.
  • Navigation: The trail markers aren't always reliable. We strongly advise downloading a GPX track or using an offline map.
  • Respect Nature: Please pack out all your rubbish, stay on the paths, and never start an open fire.
